Wreath Applique Crochet Pattern

This wreath applique is great for embellishing bags, hats, gloves and anything else your crafty minds can think of.  I have also used them to decorate gifts and as ornaments. The crochet pattern is available here for free.  There is also a printable version available.

Finished Size

2 1/4 inches x 2 1/4 inches

Materials Needed

H hook

Worsted weight yarn in green and red - I recommend Caron Simply Soft

Tapestry Needle

Abbreviation Key

ch - chain

st - stitch

sl st - slip stitch

sc - single crochet

dc - double crochet

Pattern

Round 1 – ch 10, sl st in 1st ch to form ring, ch 1, 12 sc in ring, sl st in 1st sc. (12 sts)

Round 2 – ch 1, (sc, dc, sc) in same st, * (sc, dc, sc) in next st *, repeat * in the next 10 sts, sl st in 1st sc. Finish off. Weave in ends. (36 sts)

Bow

With tapestry needle, weave red through holes created between round 1 and round 2. Tie bow with ends left after weaving. Put a dab of clear glue on knot to keep from unraveling.

 

 

You can do a lot with this pattern. Use different yarn and hooks to make it bigger or smaller. You could also add small beads or pompoms to the wreath as well.
